Kashmir Mercantile Co-Operative Bank Ltd. (KAMCO BANK) is an Urban Co-Operative Bank, registered under J&K Co-operative Societies Act, 1960 and licensed by Reserve Bank of India under the provisions of Banking Regulations Act, 1949 (AACS). The Bank commenced its business on October 10, 1987 as a Unit Bank in town Sopore Jammu & Kashmir. Registered Office of the Bank is situated at Sopore and its area of operation is entire North Kashmir which includes District Baramulla, District Kupwara and District Bandipora.

Kashmir Mercantile Co-Operative Bank Ltd. commenced Banking operation in the year 1987 as a unit Bank in Sopore town of Jammu and Kashmir where Head Office of the Bank is situated a present. In the year 2000, the Bank obtained license from RBI to open one more branch office at Iqbal Market Sopore district Baramulla. In the Year 2011, the Bank expanded its operations to frontier district of Kupwara with opening of its branch office at Bypass Road Kupwara. In the year 2012, the Bank opened two branches, one each at district HQ of Bandipora and Baramulla. At present the Bank is operating through its five branches, 3 in district Baramulla and one each at district Kupwara and Bandipora. The Bank is pioneer among Cooperative Banks of J&K in introduction of technology to better serve its customers. The Bank is fully computerized and migrated its operations on CBS platform in the year 2012, introduced SMS alert service in 2013, extended RGTS/NEFT inter-bank fund transfer services in 2014, the Bank was enabled in DBT network in 2015 wherein beneficiaries of various Government schemes receive benefits directly into their accounts maintained with our Bank, the Bank introduced ATM services in 2016 and Mobile Banking in 2017. The Bank is also member of CTS clearing under which the cheques issued by its account holders are presented pan India for clearing. The Bank will soon extend UPI services to its account holders.
